Apple has announced that its new US$1 billion campus for 5,000 workers (rising to 15,000) will be located on a new greenfield site near Austin Texas.
The new campus will be second only in size to Apple's headquarters in suburban Cupertino, California. The new 280,000 square metre campus will feature multiple buildings on a 133-acre site, 50 acres of which Apple said will be earmarked for a nature preserve. The company also noted that the campus “will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy.”
